Bloating

Any one of these chronic IBS symptoms can be really uncomfortable and majorly impact our quality of life.

You may also experience some other pretty unpleasant symptoms: gas, night sweats, tiredness, nausea, back pain, insomnia, anxiety or haemorrhoids.

All of these symptoms suggest that your large intestine is out of balance.
Root cause health coaching can help with any combination of these digestive symptoms, you do not need a medical diagnosis for IBS. We look beyond any label or diagnosis, beyond symptoms, to your ‘why’.

Why do I have these symptoms?

It’s not your fault, nor is it due to your genes or lifestyle choices.

Our gut acts like a barometer for our emotional well-being. We all experience traumas or life experiences that are tough to digest – or let go of. We all do our best to cope and our incredible bodies try to help us by adapting.

Up to 90% of visits to the GP are for stress-related complaints.

Could my symptoms be something else?

It is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms that are suggestive of a condition other than IBS. Be sure to contact your GP should you experience any of the following:

  • anaemia and other abnormal blood tests
  • blood in bowel movements
  • unexplained weight loss
  • family history of inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, or celiac disease
  • a hard lump or swelling in your tummy
  • shortness of breath, noticeable heartbeats (palpitations) and pale skin.
